A double back somersault illustrates the sound of “ou” in “double”.
On Saturday, six of my grandchildren and their parents performed at the Bream Creek Show, Tasmania’s premier small, rural agricultural show.
When I was looking at some of the video clips that I took, I just had to include one in Level 9 of Gilead Success with Phonics, that I am currently finalising, to illustrate the third sound of “ou” in “double”. This was the first time the 12-year-old had performed a double back somersault from the teeter board in public.
There was also a delightful clip of the two-year-old performing that I will use to illustrate “ou” in “young”. I’ll include that when I get to Level 9_1 in the series of free videos to teach reading.
