Victory Vowels

Victory Vowels has been incorporated into the logical, sequential presentation of Gilead Success with Phonics. (It can also still be accessed separately within it.)

A very common cause of reading difficulty is when students do not know vowel sounds. Often they just look at the letters at the beginning and end of words and guess what is in the middle. Even when they try to work out the middle, they don’t know the sounds made by some of the groups of letters.

Victory Vowels shows how the silent “e” makes a vowel say its name. It also teaches the sound of ai, ay, ea, ee, igh … au, aw, oi, oy … This is a key area in learning to read and spell well. Without this knowledge, students will start to struggle as reading material becomes more complex.
