Can the programs that I have developed over 30 years become free homeschooling resources at this time when so many families need support? I hope so.
Free homeschooling resources? They are ideal for homeschooling because they are logical, sequential, interesting and don’t require parents to have specialist knowledge or teaching skills. But, how to do it for free?
It has been quite difficult because the programs are very extensive. They each contain hundreds of video and audio files.
They are also executables (.exe files) so your computer may give varying nasty-sounding warnings as you download them. Using a different browser to download them may give less or no warnings. But if this worries you too much, I’ll be making my programs available shortly at very low cost, on a USB memory stick that comes in the mail.
So here are my two original programs that give a solid basis for beginners learning to read – Alphabet Album and Phonic Comics 1. (See below to download them.) They teach the most common sound of each letter and how to blend them to read 3 and 4-letter words.
My apologies to anyone who downloaded the earlier versions. A technical error transferring these as simple files over the internet meant that each sound would only play once.
You can now download the updated versions for free by clicking here:
Alphabet Album and Phonic Comics 1.
Then click on DOWNLOAD ALL. Or right click on the folder name and choose “Download”. This may take a few minutes.
If a sign “leave” appears, click it. You will eventually find the file in your downloads folder. Right click on it and choose “Extract here” or “Unzip to here”. This will make a folder, e.g. Alphabet Album” in downloads. Move this to a convenient place. Open the folder, then double click on AlphabetAlbum.exe to run it, or make a shortcut to your desktop.
Feel free to share these as widely as you like, but not to sell them.

Can I please have the free download of Alphabet Album and Phonic Comets:)
Hi Kelly,
If you click on the links to Alphabet Album and Phonic Comics near the bottom of the page it will take you to the link to download each of them. Then click on “Download” and follow the instructions. Note that they are executable files, so you may get warning messages. Try using a different web browser if you have problems.
All the best,
Jeanne
Hi Kelly,
I had some technical difficulties with my first attempt to make these programs available free over the internet. Each sound would only play once. The new versions should work fine now. Let me know how you get on.
