Letter Rhymes
Can your child find these words starting with an /a/ sound? a (apple / bite the apple), abseil, acrobats, ambulance, anchor, antlers, ants, arrows (two sorts of arrows), astronaut, avocados, axe (US ax). Remember, always use the sound of the letter, not its name.
Letter–Rhymes is similar to Textured Letters, is not as tactile, but it is ready to print. The second and third editions now have a large red letter, with starting point and directions marked, opposite a page of interesting pictures that start with that sound.
The rhymes are the same as those used in Alphabet Album.
Remember to only talk about the sound of each letter. Learning their names comes much later.
