Letter Rhymes

Letter Rhymes is an alphabet book with a difference. Each page includes a visual memory aid and a rhyme to help a child remember the sound of the letter.

Remember to talk about the sound of the letter, not its name.

Here is the pdf of the second edition of the book for you to print. Print it back-to-back, staple and fold to make an A5 booklet. It has many line drawings to colour in, and now also has red letters to trace with a finger. Letter Rhymes book Version 2 and its cover Version 2 pdf .

The third edition is in full colour. Print it on A4 paper back-to-back. This gives a large red letter for your child to trace with a finger (with starting point and directions to go shown) opposite the page with many interesting pictures to find that start with that sound.

Here is a short video with the sound and rhyme for each letter. Check this if you are not sure how to say the sound for a letter. Remember, the names of the letters will come much  later. If your child already knows the name of a letter, just say, “That’s good, that’s its name. Do you remember its sound?” The video is also included in an article from January 2023.
